Are fishing licenses included?
Yes! Every Sportsman Charters fishing trip includes all required Florida fishing licenses for your group. Simply show up ready to fish—we provide the licenses, rods, reels, bait, tackle and everything you’ll need for a great day on the water.
What fish can we catch?
The species you’ll target depends on the season and current conditions. Common catches include snook, redfish, spotted seatrout, mangrove snapper, grouper, Spanish mackerel, kingfish, cobia and seasonal tarpon. Before your trip, Captain Gary will discuss what’s biting and recommend the best fishing opportunities.
Can we keep the fish we catch?
Absolutely! Any fish that are legal to harvest according to Florida regulations are yours to keep. At the end of your charter, Captain Gary will clean and bag your catch so it’s ready to take home or enjoy at a local restaurant that offers a “cook your catch” service.
What should I bring?
We recommend bringing:
- Sunscreen
- Sunglasses
- A hat
- Comfortable clothing
- Non-marking shoes or sandals
- Snacks or drinks (optional)
We’ll provide the fishing equipment, bait, bottled water, ice, fishing licenses and fish cleaning.
Are children welcome?
Absolutely! Family fishing trips are one of our specialties. Whether it’s your child’s very first fish or a fun vacation activity, we’ll tailor the trip to your family’s experience level and make sure everyone has an enjoyable day on the water.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Your safety is always our top priority. If weather conditions are unsafe, Captain Gary will contact you to reschedule your charter or discuss available options. We closely monitor marine forecasts to ensure every trip is both safe and enjoyable.
