About Us
As first responders and prior military, our escape was jumping on the boat and heading to an island or enjoying a day of fishing charters for relaxation. We realized how impactful and healthy this time away from the chaos of life was, especially in these frontline roles. We wanted to share this with our friends and all the other frontline
As first responders and prior military, our escape was jumping on the boat and heading to an island or enjoying a day of fishing charters for relaxation. We realized how impactful and healthy this time away from the chaos of life was, especially in these frontline roles. We wanted to share this with our friends and all the other frontline personnel who protect us. Thus began Sportsman Charters. Owned and operated by a veteran and first responders, our mission is to provide safe, relaxing, and memorable fishing charters, sunset eco-tours, and island charters. We have and will continue to work with 501(c)(3) charity organizations including Wounded Warrior Project, Hook-A-Hero, local licensed mental health professionals, and EMS & Fire Department unions. Together, we can provide no-cost charters—whether private charters or island adventures—for those suffering from service-related stressors such as PTSD, who could benefit from a relaxing day on the water when referred to us by one of our partners. This is our way of giving back to those who chose a career to protect all of us. As a veteran and first responder owned and operated business, we started our boat charter to give residents and visitors the opportunity to enjoy the waters of Pinellas County and beyond without dealing with overcrowded commercial charters or the hassle, risk, or fear of trying to rent a boat, especially in unfamiliar territory. We love the calming and therapeutic nature of being on the water, seeing aquatic wildlife, listening to the sounds of the waves meeting the shoreline, and simply living in the moment with nature as though you are the only people there. Having lived here for over 35 years and navigated the beautiful pristine waterways, we are committed to providing our customers with the highest quality charter cruise or boat tour experience at prices that are affordable for most everyone.

While we do have limits of 6 passengers, we have hosted a variety of events including scavenger hunts, proposals, birthdays, bar crawls, bachelor and bachelorette private events, as well as sunset eco-tours and fishing charters. Our island charters are particularly special, featuring the option to drop anchor, set up our large tent, cook out, and provide a large floating island for unforgettable sandbar parties. All our prices beat nearly every other charter or rental company in the area. At Sportsman Charters, we truly want to provide everyone with the opportunity to enjoy these unique experiences with their friends and family. We strongly advocate for mental health and wellness for all first responders and military personnel (current or prior), believing that this is a small way to give back to this community.
